Cascade Style Sheet (CSS) is one of the most important languages when we talk of the web world as it helps the conversion of the mark up languages to the various interfaces that people can understand. Hence it is very important that all the messages are correctly passed across to each and every one across the world and therefore it is important that there are no CSS mistakes in a website forming document that can hamper the smooth functioning of the website in the future. There are quite a few widely known mistakes that people do make regarding the application of CSS but researchers have found out that the errors made were very fundamental and hence the person on the project would be fundamentally weak.
There are many mistakes that a person makes while using CSS and there are possible ways one can avoid them as well and most of them are listed below-
1. One of the most frequently observed mistakes in the formation of CSS code document is the use of unwanted things like spaces and units that can be possibly avoided and lot of space could be saved for the site. This is known to be prevalent and hence the only solution out of it is by carefully performing a task and if possible learns the correct and easier techniques from a person who has had a firsthand experience on the system and can efficiently code the website himself.
2. Secondly, people often repeat a lot of their commands used in the coding language. This procedure not only takes quite some amount of time but also valuable bytes are lost and the overall presentation of the entire coded structure does not look good and more so over there would be a possible confusion on what to look for and where. In such a situation the best alternative is to go for a technique that is referred as condensation which generates a unique formula that carries out the function of various repeated formulas. This also helps in neater appearance and quicker detection of the actual problem in the code, if any.
3. Another one of the commonly repeated CSS mistake is the use of the names of the colours and not the code. It is important that for the accurate choice of the colour you should always opt for a hex code rather than going for a colour by writing it in plain English as the exact shade would not be made available. Many a time people do use codes but what they forget to do is to add hash “#” before the code so that it can be parsed correctly. This can be done by a little more attention while the coder is setting up the codes for a website.
There are many other seen and unseen CSS problems and CSS mistakes that keep on occurring and most of them can be solved by carrying out a CSS validating exercise, this can be said to be a common solution for most problems.
