Simplicity as a principle of CSS and web design

For highly trained and seasoned CSS web-designers, bearing in mind and putting in action certain principles of web design is never a waste of time. For designing in the first place is pleasing yourself and users so that they will ask for more.

There are three keystones when it comes to web designing, namely: simplicity, directness, and purposefulness.

In web design, simplicity is a concept often ignored by novice and even some professional web designers. They don’t see it beneficial to stay simple in designing pages but this is the very reason why thousands fail in terms of gaining traffic, fame and most importantly money.

As the saying goes, there is beauty in simplicity. This, as pointed out, holds true in CSS web designing. So, how do you achieve simplicity when designing pages?

Though simplicity connotes relative easiness, the seemingly logical conclusion doesn’t necessarily follow in CSS web designing. All too often, simplicity is hard to achieve if one designer has no clear vision of what he wants and what the users wish the pages to have.

Simplicity is a matter of setting clear vision and goals. Every time a designer faces his/ her computer that goal or objective why he/she is there basically must be as crystal clear.

To achieve simplicity then one must remove and annihilate all sources of clutter and leave only the elements that really matter in relation to the goal/s.

Designing simple, goal-oriented pages brings lots of advantages. Simple pages are easier to grasp and comprehend. They send clearly the message of the page and trim the loading time of pages quite literally.

Simple pages are likewise easier to design thus saving CSS web designers much time for more important tasks. And when the time comes that the pages need redesigning, the process of achieving that is relatively lesser, as well. All in all, everything leads to what you are aiming at—money. Simplicity in web designing and composing style sheets gives you the opportunity to harness the economic potential of your skill.

It is therefore practical and profitable that designers practice the virtue of simplicity in designing. So the next time you style and compose codes remember this—STAY SIMPLE.
