Cascading Style sheet or CSS is one of the most used and convenient way of coding the mar up languages, especially the one we see on the web pages. Most of the websites are built on an HTML platform and hence it is important for us that the CSS is also correctly applied so that the message that the website wants to deliver is correctly conveyed to the various viewers.

However a few CSS small error can make things go terribly wrong for a website. The impact that incorrect coding can have on the website can be severe and at times the entire website stand ineffective because of a small portion in the coding that has not been attended. These CSS errors are observed from the smallest part of the website like colours and borders to sometimes the entire theme of the website. The biggest concern while developing a website are the target audience, now a well known fact states that there are many features and designs that are specific for a browser and would not appear correctly or would not appear at all if the user is using a different browser. Hence it is important that maximum people targeted use the browser if any such design is taken while the making of the website or most appropriately such features should be avoided while CSS coding so that the viewers do not ever get a bitter experience with the site. This signifies that the codes that are browser specific need to be avoided or need to be carefully used.

Another common way of wasting the web space is by the unwanted usage of tools like line break and gaps between codes, this along with the addition of certain commands that are not always necessary take up a lot of space that can be otherwise used for input of other important codes. Most designers also argue that a little space makes the appearance of the codes neater and also it helps to identify any mistakes as well, most of the time it is seen that it is out of sheer habit and quite a few bytes are lost in trying to accommodate the various extras in a code that the programmer desires to have.

Along with the above two also a big problem that the majority of the coders face is in reference to the use of colours, while most coders prefer to use the language like “red”, “blue” etc it is highly advisable to use the hex code that is assigned to each colour, this not only reduces the chances of not getting a desired colour but also ensures that the selection is very specific.
Hence while you sit down to create a web page or web site just keep the above points in mind and you will save a lot of time which might have otherwise been a part of the reworking schedule.
