I wanted to position at the top of the DIV which contains it. However the button remains fixed somewhere in the middle and not at the top, where I wanted it to be. Is there any possible solution for this problem of mine?

Please recheck to ensure that you have the entire CSS and html along with the doctype. You can also try checking the padding in the div which might be set to equal from top, bottom, left and right.
