Alternative to Divitis in CSS Layouts

Once you get started doing CSS layouts, it is easy to get into the habit of using DIV tags for everything. Even in some websites, every paragraph is surrounded by <div class=”para”>…</div>. That’s a bit excessive. But it’s completely understandable. When you’re first learning CSS layouts, it’s hard enough to understand how to get the page to look the way you want it to look without worrying about whether or not you’re using semantic markup to create your Web page. And besides, nearly every example written uses the div tag to demonstrate how to put up CSS layouts, why you should be any different.

Add Captions to Web Images

Certain websites always present images and pictures inside a box that is aligned either to the right or left of the web page. You’ll also observe a one or two sentence long text caption just below the photograph containing brief description of the image, copyright information, etc. Adding image captions to web pages offers two distinct advantages. One advantage is it will be stylish and read friendly. Your visitors can easily get the information about the image from the small caption without having to read the full story. The other is SEO friendly. Since captions describe the image in text and are located in close proximity to the image, they could be very effective in getting your images rank well on image search engines.
