A client-server architecture works like this: the web browsers send requests to a web server through Hyper Text Transfer Protocol or HTTP. The web server, on the other hand, handles the requests and sends responses back to the web browsers. In certain cases, you need to send requests to a host of web servers. There is a technique that decides the way of routing requests to a group of web servers and it is known as load balancing.

One of the common problems involved in generating an application user interface is that after downloading of the page to the client, the connection to the web server is severed. Resolution means the number of dots per inch on a computer monitor. Most small monitors are set at 640×480 resolution, but some are defaulting to 800×600 and higher. In 1995, 640×480 resolution monitors were about the best you could get without draining your bank account. This meant that Web designers focused on making pages that looked good in Web browsers maximized on a 12-14inch monitor at that resolution. In 2004, 640×480 resolution makes up no more than 1% of most Web site traffic. Instead, people are using computers with 800×600, 1024×768 and 1280×1024 resolution in greater numbers.

A frames page itself does not contain any visible content. It contains instructions on which pages to show concurrently and how they will be displayed within the browser window. It gives you the thought of a clear overlay, much like a paneled window frame. But the difference is, this window frame permits you to look into different rooms of the house. A frames page can contain references to many other pages, but usually they consist of references to pages to be used as the header, the content, a left hand menu bar and a perhaps a footer bar. When a hyperlink is clicked in one frame, say the left hand navigation window, it will open a page in the content window or the target frame.
